University of Belize Equips Course Facilitators with Moodle Training

The Ministry of Public Service, in collaboration with the University of Belize (UB), proudly announces the successful introduction of a Moodle training program designed for new course coordinators. The initiative aims to enhance the proficiency of in-service coordinators who will be utilizing the University of Belize’s cutting-edge online learning platform for their upcoming Secretarial Promotional Programme.

This training session was held on October 11 at the Central Information Technology Office building in Belmopan, offering participants an immersive and collaborative environment. It marks a pivotal moment in the continuous efforts of the Ministry of the Public Service to embrace technology and provide a seamless learning experience.

Dr. Beverly Faber, Instructional Designer for Open and Distance Learning at UB, led the training and expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative. Topics covered included effective course coordination, including platform navigation, content structuring, assessment, communication channels and technical support.

The collaboration between UB and the Ministry of Public Service highlights the significance of partnerships in advancing education and technology integration. Furthermore, the ministry’s ingenuity underscores the government’s dedication to supporting the continuous professional development of public officers in Belize.
