The Ministry of Health & Wellness announces that the SINOPHARM BBIP COVID-19 vaccine will be available to persons in phases one, two and three starting today.
The World Health Organization approved the SINOPHARM vaccines for emergency use on May 7, 2021, and the ministry is now prepared to offer that option as one of the vaccines against COVID-19. They will be available at all the vaccination sites countrywide.
In addition, please note that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now recommends that persons who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks; however, Belize is guided by local Public Health Regulations that require mandatory wearing of masks. The regulations also include physical distancing (six feet) and avoiding social gatherings. These regulations are enforced by the Belize Police Department.
