The Office of the Prime Minister informs that Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño departed the country on July 15 to attend the European Union – Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (EU-CELAC) Summit 2023, from July 17-18 in Brussels, Belgium.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Hon. Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration; Ambassador Stuart Leslie, Cabinet Secretary and Chief of Staff; and Ambassador Amalia Mai, Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
The Prime Minister will subsequently proceed on personal leave and will return to Belize on July 31. During his absence, Hon. Cordel Hyde, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources, Petroleum and Mining, will hold over as Prime Minister.
