Today, the National Sports Council held a pivotal meeting at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex, bringing together leaders from various sporting associations and federations.
Among the attendees were Hon. Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Transport, and Hon. Gilroy Usher, Minister of State for Youth, Sports, and Transport. Ms. Iris Centeno, Director of the National Sports Council, presided over the gathering.
The primary aim of the meeting was to present a proposal for a sustainable financial support memorandum, provide updates on the Council’s activities, and introduce a new app. This new app will be used for sporting events among different disciplines, providing all the necessary information about each sport. It will also be used to collect donations that go towards the development of the various disciplines. Finally, the app will provide access to purchase tickets and stream games.
During the discussions, the representatives had the opportunity to express their concerns and share progress reports.
The meeting served as a platform for open dialogue and mutual engagement, aligning the stakeholders on shared objectives and fostering a sense of collective responsibility.
