The Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing informs the public of the commencement of a critical road improvement project in Benque Viejo Town, Cayo District, that will uplift several streets in that municipality.
Civil works include preparations for roadworks, drainage improvements, pavement layer levelling and improvement, application of hot-mix asphalt road surface overlay, and the replacement or addition of traffic signs. Improvements will be made to Baymen, Burns, Cemetery, Elizabeth, Kennedy, Lomas del Rodeo, Maya, and Pablo Guerra Mena streets, Mollejon Road, Riverside Street joining Cemetery Street, St. John Paul II Boulevard, Saint Joseph, Victoria, and Wyatt streets.
Works are scheduled to commence in early November for a duration of four months. The public is asked to be patient as these streets will be closed to traffic at times. Drivers are asked to always exercise caution and make use of alternate routes when provided. Please maintain slow speeds, obey caution signs, and follow the instructions of flag-persons.
The ministry thanks the public for their kind cooperation and encourages safe, responsible, and courteous driving.
