Belmopan, November 5, 2024.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE), in collaboration with Taiwan ICDF Breeding Sheep and Goat Production and Guidance System Enhancement Project (Sheep Project Phase II), organized a “Lamb/Mutton Culinary Workshop” on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, at Swift Garden in Bermudan Landing, Belize District.
Over a dozen sheep and goat farmers, butchers, and restaurateurs from the Belize District participated in the workshop, which covered topics such as culinary demonstrations and lamb carcass breakdown techniques.
The practical session was led by technical officers from the Ministry of Agriculture. A popular local lamb stew was prepared with a detailed explanation of the techniques and key points for a lamb carcass breakdown.
This workshop is part of the ongoing commitment from the Sheep & Goat Project Phase II to support local farmers, butchers, and restaurateurs in Belize. The Governments of Belize and the Republic of China (Taiwan) continue to work together to strengthen the sheep and goat industry in the country.
