Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration Meets with Ambassador of Japan to Belize

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, Senator Hon. Eamon Courtenay, held a virtual courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Belize, H.E. Mr. Hiroyuki Kubota. 

The meeting focused on the progress of the current cooperation initiatives between the Government of Belize and the Government of Japan, including Japan’s support for Belize’s National COVID-19 Multi-Prong Preparedness and Response Plan.  

Minister Courtenay stressed the importance of the cooperation relations with Japan particularly in light of Belize’s current economic challenges. A commitment was also made to further expand the relationship between the two countries through the development of a robust cooperation framework in the coming weeks.   

Accompanying the Minister was Chief Executive Officer, Ambassador Amalia Mai.
