Today, Dr. Gilroy Middleton, the Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Immigration officially assumed his duties.
On his first day, CEO Middleton met with employees and toured the facilities. He also convened a session with the heads of departments, the administrative officers, the finance officers, and the IT manager. During the session, the heads of departments discussed important, procedural and urgent issues.
The CEO also met individually with the heads of department and the administrator to further earlier discussions on facilitating, within the laws of Belize, the travel of nationals and visitors; and promoting regular migration to contribute to the sustainable development of Belize while maintaining the national security by enhancing border security.
Hon. Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, and Hon. Ramon Cervantes, Minister of State in the Ministry, participated in the introductory meeting.
