The Ministry of Health & Wellness informs the public of an exemption letter for frontline workers who test positive for COVID-19.
The exemption letter will be issued by the Ministry of Health & Wellness to frontline workers defined in Statutory Instrument No. 74 of 2021 who test positive for COVID-19 for a period of 90 days. Frontline workers in possession of this letter will be exempt from presenting a vaccination card or a negative COVID-19 test to their supervisors or employers during that time.
Employers will be responsible for recording the end date of the 90-day period. After the 90 days, the public health regulations in SI No. 74 will then apply and frontline workers will need to present a vaccination card or negative COVID-19 test every two weeks.
The exemption period begins on the date of the onset of illness. In the case of persons who tested positive and were asymptomatic, the period begins on the day the COVID-19 test was done.
