MOHW Updates on James Bus Line Cluster

Belmopan. August 9, 2021. 5:00 p.m.

The Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW) continues to implement key public health measures and surveillance activities in the Toledo District as a result of various outbreaks and clusters in specific communities. The surveillance and monitoring of positive cases has continued for the cluster at James Bus Line (JBL).

At this time, more than 75% of the affected staff has been medically cleared by the Toledo health team. The MOHW has recommended that JBL review the services it is providing to the public and implement all public health measures in all its locations. The ministry advises all commuters to continue to follow recommendations including the proper use of a face mask and hand sanitizer while travelling to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus.

The ministry reiterates the call for all public transport operators to get vaccinated as outlined in Statutory Instrument No. 74 of 2021 and advises the public to practice all recommended health measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Persons 18 years and older are advised to get vaccinated at their nearest health facilities.
