Minister of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform Salutes All Women Public Officers

Belmopan. March 11, 2021.

The Minister of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform, Hon. Henry Charles Usher, and Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry, Dr. Osmond Martinez, in commemoration of Women’s History Month, celebrate all women, and especially, all women public officers.

This year’s theme, “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world,” honours the great commitment and contribution by women of all ages around the world, and in Belize, in creating a more equitable tomorrow while leading the way in many instances towards the survival and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our women public officers, while supporting and caring for their own families, continue to stand in service, at the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis, as health care workers, caregivers, community organizers of relief efforts and trailblazers in their departments promoting safety and health. The crisis has called attention, in yet another way, to the great value of our women, their contributions, and their strong and effective leadership. Women display tremendous resilience, creativity, and courage as they take a stance for equality and justice, even in these most difficult times.

At the Ministry, we recognize the impact women have had, and continue to have, and we salute you. We support a woman’s right in decision-making in all areas of life, including equal pay and the end to all forms of violence against women today and in the future. We thank women for bringing their experiences, perspectives, and skills to the table, and for influencing important decisions, policies and laws for the good of all. We thank you for what you continue to do for your country every day. You are invaluable!

Happy Women’s Month!
