The Ministry of Health announces the activation of its Emergency Operation Center (EOC) for Tropical Storm Nana. The EOC was activated at 6:00 p.m. today at the Ministry’s headquarters in Belmopan.
The Ministry’s Incident Command System comprises of staff from both Ministry of Health headquarters and the district health services. Staff will be on a 24-hour rotation to communicate, coordinate and respond to any health situation countrywide during and after the passage of Tropical Storm Nana.
The Ministry joins the National Emergency Management Organization to continue to advise everyone to stay safe at all times and only listen to local official advisories.
The public is reminded that the Ministry continues to monitor COVID-19. Please continue to wear masks properly, covering the nose and mouth, wash hands frequently with soap and clean running water, maintain at least six feet in physical distance and stay at home if there is no need to go to a shelter.
