Belmopan. July 17, 2019. On Tuesday, July 16th Mayor Khalid Belisle hosted a luncheon in honor of Dr. Chia-Ji Teng, Deputy Mayor of Taipei and his delegation. During the luncheon, Mayor Belisle handed over the key to the city to Deputy Mayor Teng. After the luncheon, the delegation was given a tour of Belmopan.
The primary purpose of Dr. Teng’s visit is to continue Taipei’s sister city collaboration with the City of Belmopan. During the visit, the mayors discussed issues relating to emergency response and city security. The Deputy Mayor also extended an invitation to Mayor Belisle to attend the Smart City Summit which will be held in Taipei in August 2019.
In April of this year, Mayor Belisle visited Taipei where he was also given the key to the city by Mayor Ko Wen-je.
