The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing and M&M Engineering Consultants Ltd. hereby inform the public that on Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th, extremely long and heavy bridge beams will be transported from Ladyville to Big Creek Bridge, located on the Coastal Highway. These beams will be transported via the George Price and Hummingbird highways.
Drivers along the route are advised to take extreme caution, be vigilant and follow traffic signals and instructions of escorts when approaching the transported beams as they might take up the entire width of the highways.
Upon arrival at Big Creek, the beams will be offloaded and there will be approximately three to four traffic interruptions of at least 15 minutes each. We urge all motorists to respect flagmen directing the flow of traffic on site.
The ministry and its contractors appreciate the kind cooperation of the public in respecting and abiding by these safety rules. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
