The Ministry of Blue Economy & Civil Aviation and the Belize Airports Authority (BAA) are pleased to announce that the Ranchito Airstrip Access Road has been successfully completed.
Commenting on the project at the inauguration on January 28, 2022, the Minister of the Blue Economy and Civil Aviation, Hon. Andre Perez, said, “This Ranchito Airstrip is an important icon in the north of our country. It is an aerodrome that links Corozal with parts of our country through safe and efficient transportation … As we await the opening of our borders with our Mexican friends in the north, we know that there will be even more activity here.”
The Ranchito Airstrip Access Road features:
- Two coats chip seal
- Proper drainage system
- Road medians
- Additional parking stalls
- Proper signage
- Extended apron
- Additional security perimeter fencing
This newly renovated access road will enhance the passenger experience to and from the airstrip as well as benefit the residents of Ranchito Village, Corozal, and neighboring communities.
The Ministry of Blue Economy & Civil Aviation as well as the BAA thanks all involved in the completion of this important milestone project.
